Working in Thailand, realized demonstration app for space startup OASIS — Orbital AI Supercomputer
Infrastructure.

In a nutshell, project assumed development and launch of big constellation of satellites, equipped with AI acceleration chips and laser link terminals. Main idea of the project was to process satellite data (imagery, SAR, you name it) in space, with transmitting to Earth only results of processing. Project assumed usage of current technology only (off-the-shelf components).
Sadly, project didn’t get funding (well, as always).😅
But still, here I have what to show to you! During the work on this project, I realized physically correct simulation of satellite constellation using Unity, implemented an algorithm of optimal laser routing between the satellites in constellation, and achieved reduction of satellite imagery processing time 30 times compare to typical time for satellite technology nowadays.

Why Unity was chosen? Because this should be shown to investors, and it’s always better to show something beautiful and animated, than just dry spreadsheets and graphs.
Feasibility of the proposed solution was checked not only with Unity simulation but also with Poliastro and with my own astrodynamics library. In all 3 cases same result was gathered.
Sadly, I have no money to continue the project. But this project clearly shows that Unity can be used not only for games, but for really serious tasks.
If you want, you can play with orbital constellation yourself — here is the link to WebGL OASIS Demo (use fullscreen mode for best experience).
